## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC WAS FLYING FROM PRC TO HII. DURING APPROACH, PIC DECIDED TO KEEP SPEED UP AND EXPEDITE THE LANDING FOR OTHER TRAFFIC. ON BASE, PIC PLACED HIS EFB ON THE GLARESHIELD AND REACHED FOR THE GEAR HANDLE. AT THAT POINT, PIC STATED AN AIR POCKET BUMP KNOCKED THE EFB OFF. PIC STATED HE CAUGHT THE EFB AND IN HIS MIND HAD PUT THE GEAR SELECTOR DOWN. PIC THEN SELECTED FULL FLAPS.

ON SHORT FINAL, PIC STATED THAT HE DID NOT VERIFY THE GEAR WAS INDICATING DOWN AND LOCKED AS HE NORMALLY DOES. THIS RESULTED IN THE GEAR UP LANDING. PIC STATED THAT HE DOES NOT RECALL HEARING A GEAR WARNING BUT STATED NOT VALIDATING THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED PRIOR TO LANDING WAS HIS FAULT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA293](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA293), Sep 23, 2025: Piper PA 46-350P (N462HP), Lake Havasu City, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the landing gear before landing due to distraction and failure to conduct the before landing checklist.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
