## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT WHILE FLYING ON A SOLO CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT, PERFORMED A HARD LANDING AT THE TJAB AIRPORT IN ARECIBO PUERTO RICO. THE HARD LANDING CAUSED THE NOSE LANDING GEAR TO SEPARATE FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT SHE WAS PERFORMING A SHORT FIELD LANDING AS INSTRUCTED BUT FLARED TOO HIGH AND LOST LIFT CREATING A HARD LANDING. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
