## Narrative

EXTRA FLUGZEUGPRODUKTIONS EA 300/L, LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL ON LANDING ROLLOUT. 2 UNINJURED, MINOR DAMAGE. FLIGHT CONTROL CONTINUITY OK. PILOT STATED THE FOLLOWING: UPON ENGINE START, I NOTICED THE RIGHT BRAKE WAS SOFT WHICH MADE THE AIRCRAFT BEGIN TO SPIN SLOWLY TO THE LEFT. I SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE TO TROUBLESHOOT. AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKES, PRESSURE APPEARED TO BE RESTORED AND I RESTARTED THE ENGINE. I CONDUCTED A TAXI TEST FOLLOWED BY A RUN UP AND BRAKING APPEARED TO BE ADEQUATE FOR FLIGHT. MY APPROACH AND WHEEL LANDING ON 12L WAS STABLE. AS I SLOWED DOWN AND LOWERED THE TAILWHEEL (AROUND 40 KNOTS), I APPLIED LIGHT BRAKING PRESSURE. IT QUICKLY BECAME EVIDENT THAT THE LEFT BRAKE HAD MORE PRESSURE THAN THE RIGHT BRAKE. AS THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED AND I LOST RUDDER AUTHORITY, THERE

WAS INADEQUATE RIGHT BRAKE PRESSURE TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM GROUND LOOPING TO THE LEFT. I ATTEMPTED TO PUMP THE RIGHT BRAKE TO BUILD PRESSURE, BUT THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT TIME BEFORE I LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND EXITED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.
