## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT IN COMMAND(PIC) WAS FLYING ALONG THE BEACH HEADED NORTH AND THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED SEVERELY. HE PUSHED NOSE DOWN, SET THE THROTTLE TO MAXIMUM AND TURNED ON THE SECOND FUEL PUMP. NOTED NO CHANGE IN RPM AND GLANCED AT THE OIL PRESSURE AND IT WAS ABOVE 50 PSI. PIC CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE WHEELS WERE UP AND PREPARED TO LAND IN THE WATER ALONG THE BEACH. THE ENGINE

RPM INCREASED A LITTLE ABOUT THAT TIME AND HE THEN TURNED AROUND THE CORNER OF STUMP PASS. THE ENGINE RPM DROPPED AGAIN AND PIC ROUNDED OUT ON TOP OF SOME ROUGH WATER. THE HULL SKIPPED ONCE AND THEN A LARGER WAVE CAUGHT THE NOSE AND HE CAME TO A STOP. THE ENGINE WAS STILL IDLING SO I HIT THE RIGHT RUDDER AND NOSED UP ONTO THE SAND BEACH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA368](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA368), Sep 28, 2025: Elmore Travis C Searey (N2090S), Rotonda West, FL, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
