## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT IN COMMAND HAD 8.5 GALLONS ON BOARD FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT WITH PATTERN PRACTICE AT GREELEY. STATED FUEL BURN TO BE 4 GALLONS AN HOUR BASED ON TACH TIME. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS OF ELAPSED FLIGHT TIME ENGINE LOST POWER AND AN OFF FIELD LANDING WAS MADE WITH DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT BUT NO INJURIES. NO WATER FOUND IN THE RESIDUAL REMAINING FUEL ESTIMATED TO BE LESS THEN A QUART BASES ON VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE FUEL TANK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA403](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA403), Sep 29, 2025: Aeronca 11AC (N86326), Longmont, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate preflight fuel planning, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion and the pilot’s improper landing flare which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
