## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT ON 10/01/2025 WHILE ENROUTE FROM T78 TO 5R8, NOTICED EGT INDICATED ABOVE NORMAL. MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT 45R. AFTER ABOUT 45 MINUTES OF CHECKS AND RUN-UPS ON THE GROUND, PILOT DEPARTED 45R FOR 5R8 AND TURNED EAST WITH FULL POWER AND NO ISSUES. AT 400-500FT MSL, ENGINE BEGAN TO FEEL DIFFERENT, LIKE IT WASN'T PRODUCING FULL POWER. PILOT CONTINUED CLIMB AND AT ABOUT 900-1000 FT MSL, EGT INCREASED. PILOT BEGAN TO TURN BACK TO 45R AND MADE LEFT TURN. DURING TURN PILOT OBSERVED CHT BEGIN TO DROP RAPIDLY AND THE EGT BEGIN TO CLIMB FURTHER. PILOT CHECKED IGNITION SWITCH, MIXTURE CONTROL AND FUEL SELECTION VALVE BUT "THE ENGINE HAD FAILED". WITH NO POWER AND SURROUNDED BY WOODED AREAS, PILOT OPTED TO ATTEMPT EMERGENCY LANDING IN CLEARING NEAR HIGH TENSION WIRES. PILOT LANDED IN A DIRT PIPELINE CLEARING ADJACENT TO POWER LINES AND APPLIED HEAVY BRAKES. AIRCRAFT STOPPED ABRUPTLY IN "MUDDY SWALE" AND THE INERTIA TIPPED THE AIRCRAFT UPON IT'S NOSE AT A ROUGHLY 45 DEGREE ANGLE. DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO PROP SPINNER AND WHEEL FAIRINGS. AFTER EXITING THE AIRCRAFT, PILOT AND PASSENGER DETERMINED THEIR LOCATION AND CALLED EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR ASSISTANCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
