## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 14, 2025, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED AOC WITH A DESTINATION OF PUC WHILE MAKING A SHORT LANDING AT 1U7. THE PURPOSE OF THE FLIGHT WAS TO PROVIDE CFI INSTRUCTION FOR TAIL WHEEL ENDORSEMENT. THE INDIVIDUAL UNDER INSTRUCTION APPROACHED 1U7 DOWNWIND OF RUNWAY 34. DURING APPROACH SHORTLY AFTER COMPLETING A FLARE, THE FLIGHT CONTROLS WERE MANIPULATED IN A QUICK FORWARD MOTION WHICH RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTING THE RUNWAY AND BOUNCING. FULL POWER WAS APPLIED WITH THE INTENT OF PERFORMING A GO AROUND; HOWEVER, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY INTO A FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ~200 FEET EAST OF RUNWAY 34. COUNSELLING IS BEING RECOMMENDED AND THIS INVESTIGATION IS BEING CLOSED WITH NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED AT THIS TIME.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA024](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA024), Oct 17, 2025: Piper PA-18 (N1755A), Paris, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot receiving instruction’s failure to maintain directional control during landing and the flight instructor’s delayed remedial action, which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
