## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS FLYING WITH A CFI FOR PROFICIENCY TRAINING. HE WAS ATTEMPTING A TAKEOFF BUT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT ACCELERATING AS EXPECTED DURING TAKEOFF ROLL AND ABORTED THE TAKEOFF. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE PASSED HIS DECISION POINT ON THE RUNWAY BEFORE REACHING TAKEOFF SPEED. THE CFI STATED THAT HE HEARD A RUMBLING SOUND FROM THE LEFT REAR AND THE PIC TOLD HIM THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT ROTATE. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT IT VEERED TO THE LEFT, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE, AND STOPPED IN GRASS OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT SHUTDOWN THE AIRCRAFT AND INSPECTED THE PLANE WITH NO DAMAGE NOTED. THE PLANE WAS TOWED TO A HANGAR AND PARKED. A MECHANIC INSPECTED THE BRAKES AND FOUND WORN BRAKE LINERS ON THE LEFT BRAKE. THE MECHANIC REPLACED LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKE ROTORS, PADS, WHEEL CLIPS, AND BLED THE SYSTEM. HE TESTED THE BRAKES AND NO FURTHER ISSUES WERE FOUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
