ON 28OCT2025 AT APPROXIMATELY 0905 LOCAL TIME, A GILES G202 TAILWHEEL AIRPLANE COLLIDED WITH A CESSNA 172 AT THE RUN UP AREA NEAR RUNWAY 05 AT BOCA RATON AIRPORT IN BOCA RATON, FL. THE STATIONARY CESSNA 172 WAS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF RUNWAY 5 AND WAS PREPARING TO TAXI UP TO CROSS THE HOLDSHORT LINE OF RUNWAY 5 WHEN THE GILES G202 TAILWHEEL AIRPLANE PROCEEDED DOWN TAXIWAY B WHERE THE PROPELLER OF THE GILES 202 STRUCK THE LEFT WING OF THE CESSNA 172. CESSNA 172 NOTIFIED TOWER OF THE COLLISION, AND BOTH AIRCRAFT ENGINES WERE SHUTDOWN. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND PLANES WERE TOWED TO THIER RESPECTIVE HANGARS FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA025](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA025), Oct 28, 2025: Akrotech Giles G-202 (N202RD), Boca Raton, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The low-wing pilot’s inadequate visual lookout, which resulted in a collision with another airplane while taxiing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
