## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BHS 291 OPERATING MYNN (LYNDEN PINDLING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS)-MTCH (CAP-HAÏTIEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, HAITI) SUFFERED A CRACKED WINDSHIELD DURING CRUISE AT FL390. CREW REPORTED A FINE CRACK ON FO'S FORWARD WINDSHIELD AND OBSERVED IT PROGRESSIVELY BEGAN TO SPREAD. DESCENT WAS REQUESTED TO LOWER ALTITUDE. CREW ACCOMPLISHED THE APPROPRIATE NON-NORMAL CHECKLIST. DIVERSION BACK TO MYNN REQUESTED & APPROVED. DIVERSION BACK TO MYNN FOR MAINTENANCE CONVENIENCE. THE CAPTAIN DETERMINED THE INNER PANE WAS NOT AFFECTED AND THE CRACK HAD STOPPED PROPAGATING. NORMAL LANDING AND TAXI ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AIRCRAFT TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE AND WINDSHIELD REPLACED. THE WINDOW HEAT CONTROLLER ALSO REPLACED. REQUIRED LOGBOOK ENTRIES ACCOMPLISHED. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. FAA INVESTIGATION COMPLETE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
