## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ON A PRACTICE INSTRUMENT APPROACH, THE PILOT RAN HIS BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST. THE CHECKLIST WAS INTERRUPTED TO AVOID A FLOCK OF BIRDS. FURTHER ON THE APPROACH, ANOTHER FLOCK OF BIRDS CAUSED A DISTRACTION. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE RUNWAY WITHOUT THE LANDING GEAR EXTENDED RESULTING IN A PROP STRIKE AND AIRCRAFT SKIN WORN DOWN TO THE FRAME.
