## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/09/2025 AT 05:15 AM LOCAL TIME, A BE-95 BEGAN TAKEOFF ROLL AT THE MOORE COUNTY AIRPORT (SOP) WITH NO PASSENGERS ON BOARD. THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT ON TAKEOFF AFTER SEEING A COYOTE COME INTO VIEW. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT ONTO THE GRASS AND IMPACTED WITH TWO RUNWAY EDGE LIGHTS, CAUSING THE LEFT MAIN TIRE TO SEPARATE FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED RIGHT AND ENTERED ONTO THE RUNWAY AND THEN VEERED LEFT IMPACTING WITH A PAPI LIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE GRASS APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET FROM THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RECIPROCAL RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT HAD SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR, THE LEFT PROPELLER, LEFT WING AND AILERON.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA037](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA037), Nov 9, 2025: Beech 95-A55 (N500CA), Southern Pines, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during takeoff at night, while distracted by an animal approaching the runway, which resulted in collision with a runway light.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
