## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/12/2025 AT 12:11 LOCAL TIME, STUDENT PILOT ON FIRST SOLO FLIGHT ATTEMPTED LANDING ON RUNWAY 24 AT ROANOKE REGIONAL AIRPORT (KROA) IN GUSTING WIND CONDITIONS. STUDENT PILOT MADE FIVE PATTERNS, WITH THE FIRST ENDING IN A GO-AROUND DUE TO STEEP APPROACH, THE SECOND AND THIRD BEING SUCCESSFULL TOUCH-AND-GOS, THE FOURTH BEING A BALKED LANDING GO-AROUND AND THE FIFTH PATTERN BEING THE THIRD TOUCH-DOWN. UPON TOUCHDOWN OF THIRD LANDING (FIFTH ATTEMPT), THE AIRCRAFT RIGHT WING ROSE UP, THE AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT DURING ROLL-OUT AND EXITED THE RUNWAY MID-FIELD. THE STUDENT APPLIED LEFT RUDDER TO PREVENT PROPELLER FROM STRIKING RUNWAY LIGHTS, AND IN DOING SO, THE RIGHT FLAP AND RIGHT LANDING GEAR STRUT MADE CONTACT WITH AND DAMAGED THE RUNWAY LIGHT. NO FURTHER DAMAGE REPORTED AND NO INJURIES SUSTAINED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
