## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON RETURN TO THE AIRPORT, DURING LANDING ROLLOUT, THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED A CROSSWIND THAT PICKED UP THE RIGHT WING UP CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AND THE NOSE GEAR IMPACTED A RUNWAY LIGHT, CAUSING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE RESULTED IN THE PROPELLER SPLINTERING FROM GROUND IMPACT. THERE WAS NO POST CRASH FIRE OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA042](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA042), Nov 14, 2025: Arion Lightning LS-1 (N897PR), Bowling Green, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control while landing in a strong quartering headwind, which resulted in a runway excursion and collision with an airport sign.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
