AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR EXTENSION MALFUNCTION. AFTER EXTENSIVE IN-FLIGHT TROUBLSHOOTING, THE DECISION TO INITIATE A GEAR-UP LANDING WAS MADE AT DOTHAN REGIONAL AIRPORT. THE TOWER CONFIRMED RIGHT BEFORE LANDING THAT ALL GEAR APPEARED TO BE UP AND RETRACTED BUT THE LEFT GEAR DOOR WAS PARTIALLY OPEN. A GEAR UP LANDING WAS INITIATED WITHOUT INJURY.
