## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 5, 2025, IT WAS REPORTED TO LOCAL POLICE THAT AN AIRCRAFT INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT HAD BEEN ABANDONED ON STANSBURY ISLAND IN UTAH. IT WAS LATER IDENTIFIED THAT THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 4, 2025 WITH TWO SOULS ONBOARD. THE PIC DEPARTED U42 AT ~2325 UTC AND PROCEEDED WITH A NW HEADING OVER THE GREAT SALT LAKE. THE PIC PERFORMED A TOUCH AND GO ON STANSBURY ISLAND BEFORE PERFORMING GOING AROUND TO LAND ON THE ISLAND UNEVENTFULLY. WHEN INTENDING TO DEPART, THE PIC TAXIED TO THE WEST WHERE THEY EXPERIENCED SOFT DIRT/SAND DUE TO A RECENT RAIN. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO BOG DOWN AND THE PIC ADDED POWER IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT MOVING AND MAINTAIN ELEVATOR AUTHORITY; HOWEVER, THE WHEELS DUG IN IMMEDIATELY AND THE NOSE PITCHED FORWARD STRIKING THE PROPELLER AND CAUSING A MINOR DENT TO THE FRONT COWLING. THE PIC DID NOT NOTIFY AUTHORITIES AND LEFT THE SITE WITH THE INTENTION OF RECOVERING THE AIRCRAFT THE FOLLOWING DAY. DURING AN ATTEMPT AT RECOVERY, THE PIC WAS MET BY DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AUTHORITIES AND WAS SITED FOR TRESPASSING. COUNSELLING IS BEING RECOMMENDED AND THIS INVESTIGATION IS BEING CLOSED WITH NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED AT THIS TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
