## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS LANDING AT AIRPORT WHEN THE PILOT FAILED TO LAND ON THE RUNWAY. THE RUNWAY DISTANCE WAS OVERSHOT CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO RUN OFF THE RUNWAY AND END UP IN A RAVINE AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT INCLUDING THE FIREWALL AND ENGINE MOUNT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT ON BOARD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA090](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA090), Jan 7, 2026: Devesh Tiwary Lightning XS (N929XS), New Port Richey, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing, which resulted in a runway excursion and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
