## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT WAS EN ROUTE FROM MISSISSIPPI TO TEXAS WHEN IT EXPERIENCED ENGINE TROUBLE. THE PILOT REPORTED A SIGNIFICANT DROP IN ENGINE OIL PRESSURE AND AN INCREASE IN ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE TO A MAXIMUM OF 250 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. CONSEQUENTLY, THE ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH, PROMPTING THE PILOT TO SEEK IMMEDIATE LANDING AT THE NEAREST AVAILABLE AIRPORT, JACK BROOKS REGIONAL AIRPORT.

INCIDENT DETAILS:

UPON APPROACHING JACK BROOKS REGIONAL AIRPORT, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON TAXIWAY F DUE TO THE EMERGENCY NATURE OF THE SITUATION. DURING THE APPROACH, THE AIRCRAFT'S RATE OF DESCENT AND AIRSPEED WERE HIGHER THAN RECOMMENDED. AS A RESULT, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED TWICE UPON CONTACT WITH THE TAXIWAY. DESPITE ATTEMPTS TO REGAIN CONTROL, THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED ALONG THE TAXIWAY AND ULTIMATELY COLLIDED WITH A FENCE AT THE NORTH END OF TAXIWAY F.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT:

THE INCIDENT RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH THE AIRCRAFT AND AIRPORT PROPERTY, SPECIFICALLY THE FENCE. AN ASSESSMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED. THE AIRPORT'S FENCE SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.

INJURIES:

NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT. THE PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT.
