## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 15, 2026, THE PIC OF THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED MCCALL, ID (KMYL) WITH AN INTENDED DESTINATION OF WOODS CROSS, UT (KBTF). THE ORIGINAL FLIGHT PLAN ANTICIPATED HAVING APPROXIMATELY 20 GALLONS OF FUEL REMAINING AT ARRIVAL.

DURING NORMAL FLIGHT OPERATIONS, THE PIC EXPERIENCED ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS CAUSING INCREASED FUEL CONSUMPTION TO AVOID UNFAVORABLE WEATHER. THE PIC BEGAN DESCENT INTO BTF AND COMMENCED THE LANDING CHECKLIST; HOWEVER, THEY MISTAKENLY LEFT THE TANK SELECTOR ON THE DEPLETED TANK INSTEAD OF SWITCHING IT TO THE TANK WITH ~15 GALLONS OF FUEL REMAINING. DURING PRE-APPROACH, THE PIC WAS NOTIFIED WHICH RUNWAY THEY WERE TO LAND ON; HOWEVER, THEY WERE AT TOO HIGH AN ALTITUDE. THEY COMMUNICATED THEIR INTENT TO EXECUTE A LEFT 360-DEGREE TURN TO POSITION THE AIRCRAFT AND AT ~200 DEGREES OF THE TURN, THE ENGINE CEASED OPERATING DUE TO FUEL STARVATION.

DUE TO THE LOW ALTITUDE, THE PIC ELECTED TO FORGO TROUBLE SHOOTING AND BEGAN EMERGENCY LANDING PROCEDURES. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON LEGACY HIGHWAY WEST OF THE AIRPORT UNEVENTFULLY; HOWEVER, BEFORE COMING TO A STOP, THE RIGHT WING STRUCK A LIGHT POLE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
