## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 18, 2026, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, OPERATING PASSENGER REVENUE FLIGHT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, FROM EWR TO PBI RETURNED TO EWR AFTER DEPARTURE DUE TO A NUMBER 1 ENGINE STALL (NO IN-FLIGHT SHUT DOWN). INITIAL REPORTS INDICATE AFTER THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED, THERE WAS VISIBLE SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND CABIN AND THE CREW INITIATED AN EVACUATION UTILIZING THE DOOR SLIDES, PROMPTING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY INSPECTED AND FOUND TO HAVE A FAULTY NUMBER 1 ENGINE. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
