## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 26, 2026, THE STUDENT PILOT WAS ON HIS SIXTH OR SEVENTH SOLO FLIGHT AND PERFORMING HIS FOURTH OR FIFTH LANDING. DURING THE APPROACH TO LAND, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND BOUNCED OFF THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE PILOT THEN FORCED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT DOWNWARD IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET IT TO LAND. AS A RESULT, THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISED TWICE, AND ON THE THIRD BOUNCE, THE NOSE WHEEL BENT, CAUSING A PROPELLER BLADE TO SEPARATE FROM THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA113](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA113), Feb 26, 2026: Remos Acft Gmbh Flugzeugbau Remos GX (N88GX), Glendale, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The solo student pilot's improper landing flare and subsequent improper recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
