## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED: I WENT UP FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT FRIDAY FEBRUARY 27TH 2026. I LEFT BRENHAM AIRPORT 11R AND WAS CLOSE TO SOMERVILLE WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD PLENTY OF ALTITUDE AND SAW A BIG OPEN FIELD TO MY LEFT, SO I TURNED AND GOT SETUP TO LAND. I MADE A NICE SMOOTH LANDING AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. I FOUND WHO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAID IT WAS FINE IF I LEFT THE AIRPLANE THERE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY WHEN I COULD BRING A MECHANIC. I RETURNED BACK THE NEXT MORNING WITH THE MECHANIC AND WE FOUND THAT THE CARBURETOR WAS THE ISSUE. HE PULLED THE CARB OFF AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE AIRPORT FOR REPAIR. LATER THAT DAY THE AIRPLANE WAS PUT BACK TOGETHER AND RAN PERFECTLY. IT HAD A NEEDLE AND SEAT/FLOAT PROBLEM. I FLEW IT FROM THE FIELD BACK TO BRENHAM AIRPORT AND IT RAN PERFECTLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
