## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PIPER PA-28-140 DEPARTED KEVV IN VMC CONDITIONS ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT. INSTRUCTOR HAD THE STUDENT PRACTICING CROSSWIND LANDINGS. ON THE 5TH APPROACH AND LANDING, THE STUDENT CORRECTED FOR THE CROSSWIND WITH ONLY RIGHT RUDDER (NOT USING ALERION). THE INSTRUCTOR TOLD THE STUDENT TO ADD ALERION AS WELL. THE STUDENT OVERCORRECTED AND THE INSTRUCTOR SAID MY CONTROLS, BUT THE STUDENT DID NOT LET GO AND CONTINUED TO ADD LEFT AILERON IMPACTING THE LEFT-WING TIP ON THE GROUND. ONCE THE STUDENT LET GO OF THE CONTROLS THE INSTRUCTOR CONDUCTED A GO-AROUND AND RETURNED FOR LANDING WITHOUT INCIDENT. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
