## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC INDICATED HE ENTERED THE TRAFFIC PATTERN ON A MID-FIELD CROSSWIND FOR A PLANNED LANDING ON RWY 35 AT PENN VALLEY AIRPORT (KSEG). PIC IN A WRITTEN STATEMENT SAID HE DID NOT USE A CHECKLIST AND WAS DISTRACTED BY A CONVERSATION HE WAS HAVING WITH THE PASSENGER ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT. PIC INDICATED HE FLEW A NORMAL TRAFFIC PATTERN FLYING THE DOWNWIND BASE AND FINAL, WEATHER WAS VMC WITH MINIMAL WINDS AT THE TIME OF LANDING. IN THE FLARE, THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE GROUND GEAR UP AND SLID TO A STOP ON RWY 35. PILOT ERROR IS THE PRIMARY FACTOR WITH A GEAR UP LANDING AND GEAR MISMANAGEMENT AS SECONDARY FACTORS IN THIS EVENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
