## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 22, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 01:12PM (EDT), A CESSNA 172 WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED AT LANEY'S AIRPORT (N92), OFF RUNWAY 05 APPROXIMATELY 150FT TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY'S END. THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT DECIDED TO PRACTICE TOUCH AND GO'S AT N92 AND MADE A COUPLE LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 23 BEFORE THE INSTRUCTOR ELECTED TO DEMONSTRATE A TAKE OFF ON RUNWAY 05. DURING THE TAKE-OFF ROLL ON RUNWAY 05, THE AIRCRAFT REACHED MIDFIELD AND ENTERED GROUND EFFECT WHEN THE INSTRUCTOR DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THE TAKE-OFF AS THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT CLIMB PERFORMANCE. DUE TO A SIGNIFICANT DROP-OFF AT THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 05, THE INSTRUCTOR DIRECTED THE AIRCRAFT INTO A SLIGHT LEFT TURN WHILE DECELERATING. DURING THE ROLLOUT, THE AIRCRAFT'S ENGINE WAS SHUTDOWN AND THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE ASPHALT OF THE NEARBY ROAD WHILE NOT UNDER POWER.

THE OBSERVED WINDS WERE OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST AT APPROXIMATELY 3 KNOTS AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

ONCE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, BOTH OCCUPANTS EXITED SAFELY WITHOUT INJURY.

SAS TASK T-EA68-FY26-1235.
