## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

LANDING ON RUNWAY 26 BDU WAS UNEVENTFUL, AFTER DECELERATING TO NEAR STOP PILOT APPLIED FULL POWER FOR TOUCH AND GO. AS ROTOR RPM AND AIRSPEED INCREASED PILOT INITIATED A MAIN-WHEEL BALANCE AND EXPERIENCED LEFT DRIFT, PILOT APPLIED CONTROL INPUTS TO CORRECT FOR CROSSWIND AND EACH TIME THE NOSE WHEEL LIFTED THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED LEFT, PILOT LOWERED THE NOSE TO REGAIN CONTROL. AS THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT TOWARD THE RUNWAY EDGE THE PILOT MADE A FINAL ATTEMPT TO LIFT OFF. AIRCRAFT TIPPED OVER TO THE LEFT, SLID ACROSS THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AREA BETWEEN RUNWAY 26 AND TAXIWAY ALPHA, COMING TO REST ON IT'S SIDE. PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN26LA152](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN26LA152), Mar 29, 2026: Ela ELA10 (N510EA), Boulder, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the takeoff in gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
