## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING DEPARTURE, WHILE PERFORMING A SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFF, A BUMP WAS FELT BY THE PIC FROM THE LEFT MAIN GEAR AND A VERY SUDDEN AND HARD TURN TO THE LEFT. DIRECTIONAL CONTROL ALONG THE VERTICAL AXIS WAS LOST, RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT VEERING TO THE LEFT. FULL RIGHT RUDDER WAS APPLIED AND ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED BY THE PIC IN AN ATTEMPT TO COUNTERACT THE LEFT-TURNING TENDENCIES. THESE CORRECTIVE ACTIONS WERE INSUFFICIENT TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
