## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 2ND, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED THE LINCOLNTON AIRPORT (KIPJ)FOR A LOCAL FLIGHT TO WARM UP THE ENGINE OIL. UPON RETURN AT APPROXIMATELY 17:57 ZULU, THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED A LEFT-HAND TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR RUNWAY 23. THE AIRCRAFT TURNED A ONE MILE FINAL AT APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL (AGL) AND A SPEED OF 95 KNOTS. ON A ONE-HALF MILE FINAL, N10GA WAS 300 FEET AGL WITH A SPEED OF 79 KNOTS AND A VERTICAL DESCENT RATE OF 1088 FEET PER MINUTE RESULTING IN A FLIGHT PATH THAT IS BELOW THE STANDARD GLIDE PATH OF 3 DEGREES. THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY TOUCHED DOWN HARD APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY 23 THRESHOLD, CONTACTING THE GRASS BEFORE REACHING RUNWAY 23. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR AS THE LANDING GEAR WHEEL ASSEMBLY SEPARATED FROM THE NOSE GEAR STRUT. AFTER THIS OCCURRED THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE RUNWAY AND WAS DAMAGED. THE LAST REPORTED WEATHER OBSERVATION WAS AT 1755Z AND IT INDICATED PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS WITH WINDS VARIABLE FROM 090 TO 240 AT 7 KNOTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
