## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AN INSTRUCTOR (PIC) AND STUDENT PILOT DEPARTED DEER VALLEY AIRPORT (DVT) IN A CESSNA 150G ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FOR A LOCAL TRAINING FLIGHT. THE FLIGHT PROCEEDED NORTH OF THE AIRPORT TO CONDUCT TRAINING MANEUVERS.

DURING STALL PRACTICE WITH POWER REDUCED TO IDLE, THE STUDENT APPLIED POWER FOLLOWING STALL RECOVERY; HOWEVER, THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND. THE PIC ASSUMED CONTROL, ESTABLISHED BEST GLIDE AIRSPEED, AND INITIATED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. MULTIPLE RESTART ATTEMPTS WERE UNSUCCESSFUL.

THE PIC TRANSMITTED AN EMERGENCY CALL ON FREQUENCY 121.5 MHZ AND SELECTED AN OFF-AIRPORT LANDING SITE IN AN OPEN DESERT AREA. DURING LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND SUBSEQUENTLY OVERTURNED AFTER THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ENCOUNTERED UNEVEN TERRAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA150](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA150), Apr 8, 2026: Cessna 150G (N4714X), Phoenix, AZ, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
