## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE ON DESCENT INTO KBOS, SHORTLY AFTER PASSING THROUGH FL180 THE FLIGHT ENCOUNTERED

TURBULENCE. INITIAL INFORMATION IS THAT THE AIRCRAFT FLEW THROUGH A BUILDUP THAT COULD NOT BE SEEN

DUE TO NIGHTTIME CONDITIONS AND AFTER EXITING THAT BUILDUP, ENTERED A SECOND BUILDUP WHILE TRYING

TO DEVIATE AROUND IT.

TWO FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, THE “B” AND “D” POSITION WERE INJURED DURING THE TURBULENCE. THE FLIGHT WAS MET BY EMTS. FLIGHT ATTENDANT "B" EXITED THE AIRCRAFT IN A WHEELCHAIR, FLIGHT ATTENDANT "D" WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THEIR OWN POWER. THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL.

THE “B” FLIGHT ATTENDANT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LEFT FOOT AND

THE “D” FLIGHT ATTENDANT A MUSCLE INJURY. NEITHER WAS ADMITTED OVERNIGHT AT THE HOSPITAL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA26LA185](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA26LA185), Apr 16, 2026: Boeing 737-8 (N8787K), Providence, RI, no damage. Probable cause: The airplane’s encounter with turbulence during descent resulting in a serious injury to a flight attendant.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
