## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 04/16/2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 1421 LOCAL TIME ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ON A 3 TO 5 MILE FINAL APPROACH INTO LEXINGTON BLUEGRASS AIRPORT (KLEX) WHEN THE AIRCRAFT FUEL PRESSURE DROPPED TO "0" AND THE ENGINE QUIT UNDER UNKNOWN CIRCUMSTANCES. THE PILOT TURNED ON BOTH FUEL PUMPS AND TURNED BOTH FUEL VALVES. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. BEING BELOW 1000 FT HE ELECTED TO LAND IN A FIELD TO THE LEFT OF THE BLUEGRASS AIRPORT (LEX) AND AFTER LANDING IN THE FIELD THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED A SHORT DISTANCE AND COLLAPSED THE NOSE GEAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING, PROPELLER, AND ENGINE COWLING. PASSENGERS WERE UNINJURED. NO POST ACCIDENT FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA181](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA181), Apr 16, 2026: Aeroprakt Mfg SP Z O O A32 (N993CW), Lexington, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor’s improper in-flight fuel management, which resulted in fuel starvation, a total loss of engine power, and a forced landing to rough terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
