## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, AT 1630 CDT, A CESSNA 172 ENCOUNTERED A BIRD STRIKE TO THE LEFT WING, JUST OUTBOARD OF THE WING STRUT. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 3-4 NAUTICAL MILES FROM C29 (MIDDLETON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT) AT AN ALTITUDE OF 2,000 FEET. A LARGE BIRD CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE LEFT WING. THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. A VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE LEFT WING SHOWED A LARGE DENT JUST AFT OF THE LEFT WING STRUT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
