## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 8, AT APPROXIMATELY 11:14 MDT, 2026 PIPER PA28-235 WAS INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT WHILE PERFORMING A PART 91 FLIGHT AT KSAF AIRPORT. THE SOLE OCCUPANT / PILOT WAS PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO’S AND HAD JUST TOUCHED DOWN ON RWY 02. RUNWAY CONDITIONS WERE DRY BUT THERE WERE GUSTY WINDS PRESENT. WHILE ROLLING OUT, PUTTING FLAPS UP, AND CONFIGURING FOR ANOTHER TAKEOFF, A GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT OVERCORRECTED CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DEPART THE RUNWAY ON THE LEFT. AIRCRAFT ENDED UP IN A DITCH 75’ OFF RUNWAY. SOLE OCCUPANT PILOT WAS UNINJURED. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND PROP STRUCK THE GROUND WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. DAMAGE WAS DEEMED MINOR BY NTSB VIA PHOTOGRAPHS AND CLASSIFIED BY THE FAA AS AN INCIDENT

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
