## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 20, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 14:27 EDT, A PIPER PA-28R, OPERATED BY A CFI AND A STUDENT, LANDED ON RUNWAY 31 AT IUA. THE OCCUPANTS REPORTED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN AND THAT THE DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, EVIDENCE INDICATES THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. BOTH THE CFI AND STUDENT WERE UNHARMED. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE NOT A FACTOR IN THE INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY 45 MINUTES POST LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
