## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT AIRPORT WITH CROSSWIND AT 10 KNOTS GUSTING 19. DURING TOUCHDOWN, WIND GUST PUSHED AIRCRAFT FROM CENTERLINE. PILOT'S FLIGHT CONTROL INPUTS DID NOT GAIN CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT, VEERING THE SHIP LEFT AND RIGHT MULTIPLE TIMES. RESULTING IN A SUBSEQUENT GROUND LOOP AND SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. A REVIEW OF THE AIRCRAFT RECORDS REVEALED THAT IT HAD PROPER CERTIFICATION AND A CURRENT INSPECTION STATUS. A REVIEW OF THE PILOT RECORDS CONFIRMED THAT THE PILOT HELD THE CORRECT CERTIFICATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA200](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA200), May 21, 2026: Maule M-7-260C (N261MM), Kanab, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll with gusting crosswind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
