## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A SOLO STUDENT PILOT TOOK OFF FROM A PRIVATE LANDING STRIP NEAR JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, TO PRACTICE FOR AN UPCOMING CHECK RIDE, FLYING OVER AGRICULTURAL FIELDS. WHILE PERFORMING SLOW-FLIGHT MANEUVERS AT 500 FEET, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A DUST DEVIL, WHICH STALLED IT AND INITIATED A RIGHT-WING LOW SPIN. ALTHOUGH THE STUDENT PILOT RECOVERED FROM THE SPIN, THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY STRUCK TREES AND SHRUBS DURING ROLLOUT, RESULTING IN THE ACCIDENT. THE PILOT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL, WHERE HE WAS LATER RELEASED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE, INCLUDING THE LOSS OF THE RIGHT WING, TAIL EMPENNAGE, AND LANDING GEAR, AND WAS ULTIMATELY CLASSIFIED AS DESTROYED.
