## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE RETURNING TO THE AIRPORT AFTER A SHORT PERSONAL SIGHTSEEING EVENING FLIGHT. PILOT ENTERED INTO A PARTIAL TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR LANDING ON RWY 21R. UPON INITIAL TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND UPON TOUCHING DOWN THE SECOND TIME THE AIRCRAFT "NOSED OVER" COMING TO REST UPSIDE DOWN ON RUNWAY 21R BETWEEN TAXIWAY "C" AND TAXIWAY "D", APPROXIMATELY 4200 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END OF RWY 21R (RWY 3L/21R LANDING DISTANCE AVAILABLE IS 7110 FEET). PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES AND PASSENGER REPORTED MINOR INJURY. PILOT STATED NO KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA208](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA208), Jun 1, 2026: Cessna 140 (N4179N), Pasco, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadvertent excessive braking during the landing roll, which resulted in a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
