## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 2, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 10:39 LOCAL TIME, A DJI M350 RTK UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM (UAS) WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE UAS WAS CONDUCTING A DRONE AS FIRST RESPONDER (DFR) MISSION IN RESPONSE TO A REPORTED THEFT. DURING FLIGHT, THE UAS DID NOT CLIMB AS EXPECTED AND CONTINUED ALONG ITS EXISTING FLIGHT PATH AT APPROXIMATELY 47 FEET AGL. AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE BY THE REMOTE PILOT TO MANUALLY COMMAND THE UAS TO CLIMB; HOWEVER, THE UAS DID NOT RESPOND. THE UAS CONTINUED TOWARD INTERSTATE 35, CROSSED THE ROADWAY, PASSED IN FRONT OF A SOUTHBOUND SEMI-TRUCK, AND SUBSEQUENTLY LOST CONNECTION WITH THE CONTROL SYSTEM. THE UAS PENETRATED THE WINDSHIELD OF THE SEMI-TRUCK AND CAME TO REST INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR FACIAL LACERATIONS AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR EVALUATION AND TREATMENT. THE UAS SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
