## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 3, 2026, THE PILOT DEPARTED HILLSBORO AIRPORT (HIO) AT APPROXIMATELY 1338 (PDT) LOCAL TIME IN A CESSNA P210N AND FLEW DIRECT TO SALEM AIRPORT (SLE).

UPON ARRIVAL, THE PILOT WAS CONDUCTING A STRAIGHT-IN VISUAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 16. DURING THE LANDING PHASE, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED AT APPROXIMATELY 1356 (PDT) LOCAL TIME. THE PILOT HEARD SCRAPING AND PROPELLER HITTING THE RUNWAY SURFACE AND THEN OBSERVED SMOKE ENTERING THE CABIN. PILOT TURNED ON CABIN FAN AND OPENED THE WINDOW AFTER THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA210](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA210), Jun 3, 2026: Cessna P210 (N4875K), Salem, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to extend the landing gear prior to landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
