## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PILOT OF AN ULTRALIGHT CRASHED INTO LAKE SHASTA AFTER LOSING CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT ABOUT 200 FEET ABOVE THE WATER AND WAS RESCUED WITHOUT SERIOUS INJURIES.

THIS INCIDENT MOVED TO AN OCCURRENCE. THIS ULTRA-LIGHT DOES NOT MEET THE CLASSIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR AN INCIDENT. IT ALSO DOES NOT MEET THE CLASSIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NTSB TO INVESTIGATE INTO THIS CRASH. PILOT WAS UNINJURED AND THERE WAS NO PROPERTY DAMAGE INVOLVED DUE TO IT CRASHED INTO THE LAKE THAT IT SHORTLY TOOK OFF FROM. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AT THE TIME. THE ULTRA-LIGHT WAS UNREGISTERED, AND THE PILOT DID NOT REQUIRE A PILOT LICENSE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
