## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED RUNWAY 18, VIDEO EVIDENCE SHOWS A NORMAL TAKEOFF WITH NO INDICATIONS OF ANY PROBLEMS; THE AIRCRAFT GOES OUT OF VIEW OF THE CAMERA THEN REAPPEARS IN THE DISTANCE AT A STEP RAPID DECENT FOLLOWED BY A FIREBALL AND HEAVY SMOKE. ARRIVED ON SCENE OF SINGLE ENGINE CIRRUS AIRCRAFT CRASHED IN DRIVEWAY BEHIND HOUSE LOCATED AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE GARAGE OF A HOUSE AT NOSE DOWN STEEP ANGLE DESCENT WITH A LEFT SPIN; THIS IS VERIFIED BY VIDEO EVIDENCE. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE ROOF, WENT THROUGH THE GARAGE AND OUT THE BACK COMING TO REST ABOUT 30 FEET FROM THE STRUCTURE. BOTH THE HOUSE AND AIRCRAFT WERE DESTROYED BY POST IMPACT FIRE. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED ALL CONTROL CABLES WERE INTACT BUT CONTINUITY FROM CONTROL COLLUM TO FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES COULD NOT BE VERIFIED DUE TO HEAVY FIRE DAMAGE. THE PROPELLER BLADES AND SPINNER INDICATE ROTATIONAL POWER AT THE TIME OF IMPACT. THE ENGINE HAS HEAVY IMPACT, AND FIRE DAMAGE ATTEMPTED TO ROTATE ENGINE BY HAND WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. AN ON-SCENE ENGINE TEARDOWN WAS PERFORMED BUT WITH NEGATIVE FINDING OF PREMATURE ENGINE FAILURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN26FA222](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN26FA222), Jun 11, 2026: Cirrus Design SR20 (N858SD), Wheelers Mill, OH, destroyed, 1 fatal, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
