## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 18, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 1109 MST, A CESSNA 172 DEPARTED RYAN FIELD (KRYN) ON A CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT TO CHANDLER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KCHD). THE STUDENT PILOT WAS RETURNING FROM THEIR FIRST SOLO CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING DURING TOUCHDOWN AT KCHD. THE HARD LANDING RESULTED IN A FLAT NOSE WHEEL TIRE AND A PROPELLER STRIKE. THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY UNDER ITS OWN POWER BUT REQUIRED A TUG TO RETURN TO THE PARKING RAMP. THERE WAS ONE PERSON ON BOARD. NO INJURIES, MECHANICAL ANOMALIES, OR INVOLVEMENT OF OTHER AIRCRAFT WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
