## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE INCIDENT AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 8 AT SAN MARCOS REGIONAL AIRPORT (KHYI), THEN DEPARTED THE ACTIVE RUNWAY ON TAXIWAY B. UPON LANDING THE PIC NOTED UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF RUDDER WAS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE GROUND TAXI HEADING. DUE TO THE SHORT DISTANCE REMAINING TO THE PARKING AREA, THE PIC ELECTED TO CONTINUE TAXING. AIRCRAFT MADE A RIGHT TURN ONTO TAXIWAY A CONTINUING TOWARDS THE PARKING AREA, WHEN THE AIRCRAFTS NOSE WHEEL ASSEMBLY COLLAPSED AND CAME TO REST UPON ITS PROPELLERS; POST INCIDENT INSPECTION REVEALED NO SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE FIREWALL OR AIRFRAME. THE AIRCRAFT PROPS WERE DAMAGED/CURLED DUE TO GROUND/SURFACE CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE AT GROUND TAXING POWER APPLIED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
