## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING TAKEOFF FROM A GRASS RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT AND SUBSEQUENTLY STRUCK A TELEPHONE POLE/WINDSOCK WITH THE LEFT WING. AFTER STRIKING THE POLE, THE AIRCRAFT SPUN 270 DEGREES, DRAGGING THE RIGHT WINGTIP ON THE GROUND AND STOPPING PARTIALLY IN SOME TREES BY THE POLE. THE AIRCRAFT NEVER ACHIEVED FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC26LA059](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC26LA059), Jun 21, 2026: Piper PA-12 (N2586M), North Pole, AK, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
