## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON LANDING ON GRASS NEXT TO RUNWAY 18 AT AVK ON JUNE 21,2026 AT APPROXIMATELY 0930 LOCAL. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT ISSUE AND CONTINUED ON RUNWAY HEADING TO INTERSECTION OF RUNWAY 18/36 AND RUNWAY 6/27 FOR A LEFT 90 DEGREE TURN TO ENTER SERVICE ROAD. ABOUT 60 FEET BEFORE ENTERING SERVICE ROAD THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FELL IN A DEEP HOLE CAUSING IMMEDIATE PROP STRIKE AND SUBSTANTIAL AIRCRAFT DAMAGE. PILOT EXITED AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA230](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA230), Jun 21, 2026: Stephen Aberle Chipper CH-2A (N618SA), Alva, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to taxi the tailwheel-equipped airplane over uneven terrain while operating with limited forward visibility, which resulted in the left main landing gear entering a hole.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
