## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A-2 TROJAN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLIGHT 06-21-2026 .5 HOUR FLIGHT FROM 11 :44 AM START TO 12: 10 LANDING.

START ENGINE 1842Z FORCED LANDING 1910Z

WE PLANNED A DUAL TRAINING FLIGHT FROM SANTA ROSA KSTS TO WILLOWS/GLENN COUNTY AIRPORT. ON

CLIMBOUT LEFT DOWNWIND DEPARTURE FROM SANTA ROSA AT ABOUT 2,200 FEET THE PROPELLER RELEASED FROM THE

AIRCRAFT.

INITIALLY THE PROP AND SPINNER DROPPED DOWN OUT OF SIGHT. THEN A MOMENT LATER CLIMBED BACK UP IN FRONT

OF US. WE TURNED LEFT TO AVOID THE SPINNING PROP.

WE FOUND A PRETTY GOOD FIELD TO THE LEFT WHERE SOME OF A VINEYARD WAS TORN OUT AND PILED UP IN BURN

PILES. WE FLEW PAST THE FIELD, WESTBOUND ON A DESCENDING LEFT DOWNWIND LEG.

WE MANEUVERED AROUND AND NEAR A WINERY AND TREE, DESCENDING FOR LANDING. THEN WE TURNED FINAL AND

EXECUTED A FORCED LANDING WITH FUEL VALVE OFF, THROTTLE IDLE, MAGS AND MASTER SWITCH OFF.

THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER STUDENT PILOT OR FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR. THE ELT DID NOT ACTIVATE. THERE WAS

NO DAMAGE TO ANYTHING ON THE GROUND.

POSITION WAS APROX 6.8 NM NORTH OF KSTS. THIS IS THE PILOTS STATEMENT. IDENTIFIED AIRWOTHINESS OF AIRCRAFT BY CHECKING LOGBOOKS. REVIEW OF THE AVAILABLE RECORDS IDENTIFIED THAT THE ENGINE WAS OVERHAULED ON 12/22/1996. THE RECORDS FURTHER INDICATE THAT A NEW CRANKSHAFT WAS INSTALLED AS PART OF THE OVERHAUL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA227](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA227), Jun 21, 2026: Emigh Trojan A2 (N8329H), Healdsburg, CA, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
