## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS MANEUVERING IN A HOVER TO A LANDING LOCATION ON THE AIRPORT RAMP. WINDS WERE 200 DEGREES AT 20 KNOTS GUSTING 29 KNOTS. DURING A HOVER TURN THE AIRCRAFT TURNED FARTHER THAN EXPECTED AND ACCELERATED INTO MULTIPLE SPINS. THE PILOT FORCED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED UPRIGHT. THE GROUND IMPACT CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE (AS DETEMINED BY THE NTSB) TO THE SKID CROSS TUBES AND A BROKEN LEFT SIDE CHIN BUBBLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
