## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS DOING TOUCH AND GO'S FOR CURRENCY ON HIS PRIVATE GRASS FIELD. HE HAD DONE A FEW AND ON THE LAST LANDING HE WAS ALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY WITH A HEAD WIND AND WHEN HE GOT CLOSER TO THE RUNWAY THE HEAD WIND GAVE OUT AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED IN TO THE BEAN FIELD ROLLED ONTO THE RUNWAY AND THE BEANS THAT WERE CAUGHT ON THE LANDING GEAR, FLIPPED THE AIRPLANE UPSIDE DOWN ON THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HE NOTICED THE ISSUE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGHT TIME AT THE LAST MINUTE TO COMPLETE A GO AROUND. THERE WAS NO POST IMPACT FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA259), Jul 6, 2026: Maule M-5-235C (N9103E), Hickman, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain a proper glide path, which resulted in a runway undershoot.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
