## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BECAUSE OF A TAXIWAY CLOSURE FOR CONSTRUCTION, THE PILOT WAS BACK TAXIING TO THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS HURRYING BECAUSE OTHER TRAFFIC WAS ENTERING THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AND REACHED A VERY EXCESSIVE TAXI SPEED. THE PILOT FINALLY REDUCED POWER AND APPLIED BRAKES, HOWEVER INSUFFICIENT RUNWAY REMAINED TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT. BOTH TIRES LOCKED UP RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDING AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE END OF THE RUNWAY AT 30 KNOTS, STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT WHICH DAMAGED THE MAIN GEAR STRUT AND FINALLY STOPPED IN THE GRASS SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
