## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON A ROUTINE LOCAL FLIGHT, THE PILOT STATED HE LOST ENGINE POWER DURING CRUISE. THE PILOT SWITCHED THE FUEL SELECTOR TO THE OTHER TANK, HOWEVER, POWER WAS NOT RESTORED. THE PILOT ALSO ENSURED ALL FUEL PUMPS WERE IN THE ON POSITION. ENGINE POWER COULD NOT BE RESTORED. THE PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON A COUNTRY ROAD AND SWERVED OFF THE SIDE AND INTO A DITCH, RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. ON RECOVERY, IT WAS NOTED THE HEADER TANK WAS EMPTY AND THE MAIN WING TANK WAS APPROXIMATELY 50% FULL OF FUEL. DUE TO AIRCRAFT DESIGN, FUEL IS FED FROM THE MAIN TANK TO THE HEADER TANK BY A TRANSFER PUMP. THIS PUMP WAS SUBSEQUENTLY EXAMINED AND THE PUMP DID NOT RUN AS EXPECTED.
